Trading Card Games

I know some of you out there play them! YOU CAN'T HIDE FROM ME

I've played:

Recently I've also been looking at both WIXOSS, Weiss Schwarz, and Fire Emblem Cipher.

What TCGs have you played? What games are you interested in?

I played my first (tutorial) game of Weiss last night, and it's pretty fun! I'd love to spend more time with it.
Also, I've been getting more into Pokémon TCG Online. Apparently there's some ways to get free packs of the current standard set, which I'll be telling you guys about in my next stream.

i used to play Magic the gathering but lately i've gotten kinda back into to yugioh playing with sendai but other then that not much interest in other game

Thousands were spent on Weiss at AX.

I LOVE Weiss. I am for sure going to want to play it on stream with my webcam and stuff. For now I'm stuck with trial decks though.

I think it may be time to start regular Card Game days on stream. o3o

I only ever played MtG and started at 4th edition and stopped around Mirage. I barely had anyone to play with so I never got into anything else.

Nice! I'd play with you guys with my Love Live trial deck but I only have the camera on my laptop and idk how good of an angle I can get with it, so it might look awkward.

Ah, yeah, not having a lot of people to play with sucks. If you wanna play MTG or even some other card game, I'd probably be down to do so. I might have to learn how to play, what the cards are/do, etc. And I'd probably be bad. But hey, better than nothing.

@Verdant_Mushroom I think Fridays is when most people are free. Could try running card games days on Friday and possibly earlier in the week if more people are free. What card game should we start with though?

@Verdant_Mushroom I doubt I'd get back into MtG. Maybe Weiss for the sake of collecting but I've lost the collector's passion a long time ago so that appeal isn't quite there.

Mio is a fan of Cardfight! Vanguard

i've only played pokemon but i'm super interested in weiss! all the cards for weiss are so cute and it's like super gacha.... (but most tcgs are tbh)

Dropped MTG because i lost all my cards in a flood, and i play dark world and chaos dragons deck

@Fanaticism mentioned he can set up Weiss on Tabletop Simulator. So that can be a nice alternative.

@Sentinelx3 Fridays sound pretty good.
As for what game to start with, I think the group's interest is mostly on Weiss. Maybe people will ask to see other card games later on, idk.

@usesoda RIP the card game life. Maybe someday, some other game might light the fires of cardboard love in your heart once more. Maybe Wixoss!

@Twidusk I was actually playing the Pokémon TCG today actually! I reinstalled the official online game thingy, but then I lost most of my matches because of dead draws.
When you're saying Weiss is "gacha," are you talking about cracking open packs? Yeah, that's pretty fun in pretty much any TCG. I think it's consistently more enjoyable in Weiss though, since all of the packs are basically themed, so you won't pull something completely unusable if you already have the matching deck.

And cool deck choices. I love my Gustos, but I've tried my hand at a bunch of decks before. I've even tried homebrewing my own decks, but those have mostly ended in failure. I did come up with a Gigavise deck, which combos Gigaplant, Supervise, and a Plant Tuner to synch into Black Brutdrago for lots of advantage, but by the time I figured it out, someone else had already made it. I guess I can at least say I did it without any prior knowledge of the combo though.

I'd play some wixoss

Hearthstone is simple and fun, so I'm sticking to it for awhile. It's super easy to learn if you ever consider picking it up!

What deck(s) do you play? I mostly use a Piruluk deck, but I'm doing some research into a Remember deck too.

I've touched that game like once or twice but it never really caught me. I should look into it more.

It's a pretty fun game. You'll probably enjoy it more if you know the WoW lore, but I went into the game without knowing any and it's super fun still. The only problem with it now is catching up if you didn't start release.

@shawn Why is catching up hard? Are cards or packs hard/slow to get?

@ArtisticVandal I think the most up-to-date plugin is Bato-Ruu, which you can find on the wixoss reddit. They don't have an autoupdater though, so you'll need to keep checking the reddit for updates.
